Scored at the Pull a Part (Maybe)

Went to the local pull a part yesterday and found a gauge cluster out of a 92-93 d150. It has the 0-100mph speedometer and is all electric like mine so will it work in mine? My odometer hasn't worked in mine for several years so i am hoping to fix that. I also scored a woodgrain dash piece so that was worth the trip there.

Also which thermostat to buy? The one from Cummins or the one from Napa?
And why?

You should be okay with the cluster. I got one from junker too but the ODO was dead.

Don't know about the stat. Cummins parts are always good. Napa generally sells better parts than most other parts houses.

I think napa parts are great, and use them exclusivly for all parts for all my vehicles. I also get a sweet discount on everthing, so that helps alot. I'd buy napa over dealer/manufacturer any day

If you're handy with little parts, you might be able to use the parts from your old one and some parts from the "new" one and make a good odometer. They aren't that complex. Don't drop any steel parts into the speedometer though since it's a big magnet and you'll jam it up.

Yeah the clusters are the same.

I like NAPA for gasser parts, but NOT for the Cummins. You should use only Cummins parts for the Cummins. I am a fan of NAPA, don't get me wrong, but NAPA thermostats are known junk.

Goto Nappa and ask about getting a heavy duty thermostat. I can't remember for sure where I was, but I bought the heavy duty version about 4yrs ago and I'm still using it.
