Brake Caliper Stuck!!! Rotor Scored To Nothing

hey guys. writing to ask what to do with a stuck brake caliper? It was stuck for about 40 miles and now the rotors scored pretty badly... What should i do to un stick this, tried prying at it, but didnt get to take the tire off yet...

I'd just buy a new caliper and be done with it....

Ditto. Kind of an important thing to have functioning 100%, plus you don't want to go through another rotor just to find out you didn't in fact cure it from hanging up.

On the other hand, I have free'd up frozen slides and not had them stick again. This was on a Toyota truck though, I can't remember what they look like on a 2nd Gen, they have those silly clips, right?

Check the rubber flex lines too. Sometimes the collapse internally and will not allow the caliper to release. The collapsed rubber acts like a one way "check valve" prevents the caliper from releasing.

Yeah, make sure the brake lines are good and be sure the piston and caliper both move freely - Kroil works wonders!

You can turn down the rotor on the truck in a few minutes if you have an angle grinder...
