school bus rear end?
my buddy just put 2 drive axles out of a freightliner under his hunt bus. he says i can have the old parts if i want. has anyone ever put one of these diffs under a truck? i would put the leafs and everything under min if i can. keep the bus duals and make mine a dually and lift the front to match. could be cool. i dont think i would have much trouble turning them with my 2wd 5 speed with a fuel pin. i think the ratio is 5:36 or something like that. could be sweet. let me know what ya think.

I'd wait until i blew up my stock axle before going to a 1.5 ton unit. Do they even come in limited slip/posi? im sure nothing a few welds can't fix.

I've thought about doin this too, I work in the bus shop here at my school as the bus mechanic's aid and they are big rear ends. I've seen some with air brakes and some of the smaller buses have hydraulic brakes. I know where to get a rear end out of a junk bus too. I think they'd be good for a truck pull truck, but for a daily driver, I don't see the point.
I don't see why you couldn't do it, but I can't see a reason on why you would do it. The cool factor would wear off within a couple of weeks I would think. But hey it's your truck so if/when you do it post up for pictures.
