I used .040 safety wire to hold mine closed. I am running a 12cm waste gated housing on my auto w/ A LOT of fuel and love it. Actually, currently I'm running the pump w/ no AFC lever, cause of some work I'm doing to it, and have the waste gate wired shut and I have had no ill effects. I can peg the gauge (pyro), but it would do that w/ a 16cm on it. It does happen a little quicker, but as long as I watch what I'm doing I am smoke'n all kinds of newer trucks . W/ your truck it stock trim you'll have nothing to worry about. Except not getting bitten by the power bug! Good Luck!

Building boost quicker, which is what is going to happen and more of it, brings fuel on quicker. Yes, you'll be quicker. If your not turning the pump up because of fuel mileage, its all controlled by your right foot. I still get 19.5 average. Sometimes better . It is going to feel like a whole new truck. You think you like the truck now, your gonna go nuts when ya get the turbo on. Oh, yea keep the waste gate shut or get a new actuator. The safety wire is cheaper.
