Runaway question

If a ve engine runs away and you have an electric pump that you can kill would that stop the runaway? Or does it start running on engine oil that is getting past the rings? I guess even if that would work the engine would probably blow before the pump ran out of fuel.

From what I understand, it would stop the engine but there would be a delay as all the fuel in the lines and pump runs out. This would starve your VE pump which is now running at more than twice its operational speed. If you dont have the intake off and ready and you get a run away unexpectedly I assume it would be better than nothing, but choking it out is by far the better solution.
