Re:Rotella T engine oil...
My truck was born and raised on Rotella, so I stick with it.<br>Call me flaky but I always use the same oil.<br>My '76 Kawasaki = Castrol gtx 20w-50<br>2000 Triumph= Mobil 1 <br>'92 Cummins Rotella 15-40.<br>Go with what you know unless you can't get it anymore
Re:Rotella T engine oil...
Mine has always had Rotella. The previous owner used it, and I continue to use it. I don't see why it would matter that you have a higher mileage engine. Mine has 140K. Another important thing is using Fleetguard filters, or another Cummins-approved brand.
Re:Rotella T engine oil...
Nothing at all wrong with Shell Rotella. That is all I used in my three trucks till I went synthetic. It will smell strange for about the first 500 miles or so but it is good oil.
Re:Rotella T engine oil...
Rotella oil is good oil but one other you might want to use is the Cheveron Delo 15w-40. I use this in mine along with a Donalson oil filter (Cummins approved) and the oil will just start to turn color at 6,000 miles. Many people use this combination in thier class 8 trucks around here and have had very good luck with it.
