Roller rockers for a 91?
I dont see much point for them as we only rev our piles to 3500 rpms (most of us anyways) I would think the cummins makes enough torque to overcome the friction of the rocker arms to the pushrods/valve stems.
As far as not for street use, that seems kind of weird. Maybe its an oiling thing?

Hamilton Diesel had them made by harland sharp iirc. I inquired about them and was told they weren't for street use. I don't see why not since some factory cars have roller rockers.
I believe it would be an oiling thing as well. Good point big stinky, I can't see much benefit if they are being revved to ~3500rpm.
Just like everything else if it is for a diesel it will cost 5 times as much as a gas version.

And like was said earlier... WHY? the ONLY reason I could see a use on a street driven truck is if they had a higher ratio ava. and even then, I wouldnt run them.
if they are Aluminum, they eventually fail. same reason you don't run Aluminum rods in a street car. (I know, I know, there is always the story of the guy with a hundred thousand miles on Aluminum rods, but I aint buying it)

I'm trying to rebuild my 91 and the rockers are a little worn, just wondering if roller rockers are the way to go? Seeing that I have it apart, just thought now would be the time to ask. Good to know about the non street thing though. Dose anyone have them on a puller/drag truck? I'm not going to put thousands of miles on the truck but reliabillity is still a factor. As far as the price, dose anyone know if they are the same as any other gas motor?
Thanks for all the input, keep it up. Woody
