Removing the vented cowl behind the hood

Sorry, I don't know what you call that thing. I noticed that there are screws underneath the winshield weather stripping that seems to help hold it in place. Is the metal slotted under there or do I have to remove the weather strip and remove the screws?

Thanks

You have to removes the screws, but you should be able to hold the rubber back, if it isn't too dry and brittle...Mark

Remove your wiper arms, then the 8-10 screws on the front edge of the cowl panel, lift and remove.

Same here. All I had to do was remove wiper arms, squirters and the screws across the front edge (in the engine compartment) and slide the piece out.
