Rear main and wear sleeve?

Hello, I finally figured out my oil drip being my rear main seal. It was changed by a local tranny guy when the clutch went out recently. The truck has 143000 on it now with the rear main being replaced 6000 miles ago. It is leaking again. I researched the forum and saw a few post mention a rear main with a wear sleeve. Should I ask it this is the one he replaced the orginal with or did he just go stock? We checked for thrust bearing movement by prying against the pulley and checking for movement, not any. Is this right? What else could cause the rear main to keep going out? Yes it was put in dry. Thanks.

Sounds like he put in the standard seal and your crank has a groove worn in it.

Check the 4 little bolts that go up into the rear main housing through the oil pan. I left one of mine loose when I did my main seal and it leaked like hell. All it needed was snugging down with a socket and extension. Won't take a second to check them.
