Question Wear sleeve install question.

Need a wear sleeve on the front of my crank, ordered seal and sleeve kit from cummins found out it's not set up like a speedy sleeve so I need the special install tool = lots of $$$$$. My 2 ideas have a tool made, less than cummins but still a lot for something I'll use a few times, #2 heat sleeve up a few hundred degrees in the oven to expland it and hope the hardness of the sleeve is not affected. Open to any and all ideas. Thanks in Advance.

What is the sleeve made out of? I see some engine builders will put a harmonic balancer in boiling water for a while to get it to expand so it will slip over the snout of a crank.

When I installed mine I had to take the rad off just to get some clearance, but once I did that I was able to tap it on with a block of wood. Once I had it centered on the snout I think I drove it on using a piece of pvc pipe...I also chilled the crank in an ice bath for a couple of hours and heated the sleeve up in the oven to 500 deg....get it on quick before it cools down!

It's a hardened steel sleeve, I think the heat and pray method is the one I'll try. Thanks

Radiator is already out, I've got tools to install these things just not one small enough. Thanks for the reply. Heat and beat if that doesent work nothing will

Block of wood to start it, bolt the harmonic balancer on to finish it.
