Rear lift blocks

I just bought a 1st gen that has 8 inches of lift but whoever lifted it used pretty big blocks in the back. What are my options as far as upgrading it. Id like to just run a bigger leaf but I've never done much suspenion work and don't really know what I'm talking about so id like to hear yalls input.

Thanks, Coop

Get rid off the lift or new rear springs.

where can I get leaf springs that big or would that even work? I want to keep the lift. Also are blocks really a bad thing or should I just keep the blocks?

Not an expert here but, I think they are more of a problem on the front not so much the rear and this last under normal driving.

if you want to get rid of the rear blocks look into Skyjacker's rear springs or do a shackle flip. both those combined should get rid of any block you would have on an 8 inch lift. the flip should give you about 4 and you can order springs to get an additional 4

You run the risk of additional axle wrap when using lift blocks. There's more leverage for the springs to apply to the axle.

Mine has huge blocks from the factory, and axle wrap is a big time issue. I plan on putting on ladder bars to fix that.

Great thanks for all the help. On skyjackers website I saw that they make a 8 leaf spring so I'm either going to go with that or do the shackle flip and 4 inch springs. Shackle flip sounds like it would be cheaper so il probably do that.

I've got factory blocks on my rear axles too and wouldn't mind if the truck was 3" lower...never checked the front axles for blocks but the truck sits level
