Rear Diff assembly question

I just put my rear diff back together. Had to replace the clutch pack.

The question is, should the spider "cross" move a little after assembly. It just moves a little.

Thanks

By hand? It should be wedged in there pretty tight with new clutches.

the new clutches should be crushing it in there real tight. When you bolted the carrier back together did you need to pull the last 1/8th inch together with the bolts?

I did need to pull it the last 1/8th or so. But the spider that holds the gears is a little loose.

What did I do wrong
