Rear brake drum "seal"?

90 w-250. 12" brakes. Heavy mother brake drums.

Doing a brake job on the truck and have to replace the drums. Noticed after I separated the hub and drum, there was a long tapered dust guard/seal that goes on the back side of the hub. I think it may be to keep oil off the shoes if the inner seal goes out. Missing one on the right side.

Does anyone know what it's called and possibly have a part number?

Thanks,

Shortround out

Those just not available. Clean up the seal surface and use a quality seal. Cr /skf

They are not fun to do, but last.

It's called an oil slinger, and yes, they're nla. Ask Oliver and see if he has one around. Really don't need it if your wheel seal is good, and installed properly.

On the other hand it saves your bacon if you lose a wheel seal on the road while towing heavy in the mountains. The only effect on braking of a bad seal is smoke generated as the grease is burned off the outside of the drum, scaring the crap out of a flag man.

Been there, done that, got the T shirt.

The slinger doesn't have to be pretty to work. Put it back in.
