At least speaking for myself. I do not want any extra electronic garbage in my 1st gen. NO GPS, no cell phone, no touch screen anything.

Give me a paper map and a OEM [preferably] radio with C/D and/or a tape deck and I am ready for a road trip.

I can not help you with this one.

There is a guy on YouTube that bypassed the ECM. He did a radio install too.
Parked my truck 2011 radio lights up. No sound. Original AM/FM CD/Cassette. Least of my problems. I can search the video when I get home. Not sure if it's a touch screen.

Depending on what year truck he owns, he may not even have a PCM.

Wasn't until like the 3rd gens they tied the radio to the PCMs. My 09 Aspen is that way. I've looked for 1.5 dens in the past and what few are out there, they are pretty basic. As long as it has a USB pot and plays MP3 files, I'm happy.

Thats a fact. If it doesn't have an ashtray and smoker's window, I don't want to own it.

I bought a single DIN Android for my '93 Dodge . I like this one because it has a touch screen , a remote AND an actual volume control **** .
You can purchase a cheap Android on Amazon , eBay or Ali Express . I don't remember where I ordered this one , but so far it's been really good .
Read the reviews , sometimes certain units are hit and miss .
I made an adapter for the Android unit by removing the front of the factory radio and cutting a rectangular hole in it to the correct size .
You used to be able to purchase nice metal radio adapters for Chrysler products back in the day , but now they're all cheapo plastic ones from companies like Scosche .
Good luck with your project .

So I just found this same radio on Ali Express , so that's probably where I bought it . The brand is Phyee . Model F7805C .
When I installed it , I remember that I had a problem with the factory speaker wiring so I just ran new wires to all 4 speakers .

A touch screen doesn't work too well up here. You spend too much time airborne as I found out with the 09', and it has a much softer suspension.
