Radiator suggestions

Guys,

What does everyone replace their 91.5-93' radiator with. I see on summit racing- they have a all aluminum one for $650. Or there is the made in China/Tawain for $250 .
I'll go by a radiator repair place and see what they can do.

Michael

What problems are you having with yours? Leaking ?

I just had mine out and flushed out and pressure tested and I couldnt believe how much crap was inside it.

I replaced mine with a spectra radiator (Lifetime Warranty). I ended up getting about four of them before I finally recieved one with no damage. After a week later it was peeing out the front so I was up set about it.

The last one I recieved has small fin damage but wasn't that bad. I ended up fixing most of them with a tooth pick and painted it black. It doesn't leak so I'm happy. With the lifetime warranty I can't complain but just to give you a heads up.

Do you have a link or part number for that 600+$ one? Curious!

I did price one through my local Cummins dealer a few weeks ago and it was $ 400. Just to let you know. They also sell them on EBAY for around 385.

Don't get the Griffin direct replacement for our trucks. I bought one and the and thing didn't line up. The brackets on the sides of the radiator where you bolt to were off. One side was 2" higher than the other. If you look close enough you can even see it in picture that Summit uses

I bought a Spectra radiator from Rock Auto about a month ago for around $210. Quality piece, well built (weighs a good amount), bolted in place without an issue and not a single leak. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I just replaced the cross flow radiator in my 90 Cummins with a Spectra one.
The radiator has three rows of tubes, the same as the OEM one, but the tubes are smaller in size giving less heat transfer area and the weight of the radiator is 25.2 lbs compared with 34.8 lbs of the OEM cross flow radiator (the Cummins came with a vertical flow radiator in 90 which was changed).
I have not had a chance to see how it works on a hot day with a load.
Has anyone noted a difference in temperature with the Spectra?
