Quad Pillar pods from Autometer

I have settled on a 4 gauge pilar mount, and these are priced right.

anybody tried to fit either of these in their 1st gen?

this one is for a Sc!on, they're boxy like our rigs right?

or this one from a 2006 superduty....

unfortunately I have not been able to get any measurements from Autometer or anyone else. But I have skills, and if its close, I can make it fit.

I searched, but all I found was a custom one that was outside my price range.

Thanks for reading

I have a 2002 psd superduty, and the a-pillar is long...todays trucks are built with a more angled windshield, which means a greater slope(better wind resistance, mileage, etc.) on the a-pillar than trucks with near plumb windows like our trucks. Do not buy the powerstroke one, it will not fit in length as explained and the width curvature is different; so different a heat gun will not cure it. Not sure about the other gage pod from Jeg's.
US Gear and Banks used to carry 4 gage pods specific to our trucks. Might want to check ebay or your local diesel performance shop, one that was doing business in the 90's. Might have one collecting cobwebs somewhere.
Geno's garage carries single and dual pods specific to our a-pillars. If mounted with the utmost in skill and the right paint, with the dual over the single, it comes out looking like a one piece 3 gage pod. Don't leave it black in color; like I mentioned it's all in the skills and the paint job!
1 more thing: Geno's also carries the steering column pod for the 2nd gen trucks which will fit ours easily. Perfect pod for the tachometer.

thanks for that good info, I figgered the ford was way too streamlined, but looking at the more bricklike 2003 scion xb...

it has possibilities... I think I'm gonna order it... I'll report back.

There's a guy over on 1stgen.org that builds quad pods to fit 1st gens. That's the only place I know of that has some that fits factory. Banks doesn't make them anymore. I've got a couple and was thinking of getting some made but haven't gotten around to it and more then likely never will.
