pyro position??
pyro position??
Ive heard alot of guys say that the probe for the pyro gauge should be mounted pre turbo for the most accurate reading. The pyro on my truck was alresdy installed when a I bought the truck and it is just behind the turbo. What are the ballpark differences between the two spots as far as temp readings go? Thanks
For a stock truck, you're looking at roughly 300 degrees difference from pre to post. When my probe was in the downpipe, I wouldn't push it much over 875-900. The real problems arise when you turn the truck up. The post-turbo location doesn't react quick enough to heavy fueling, so , for instance, by the time the post gauge reads 900, the pre numbers could have spiked well over 13-1400.
