pyro dead?
pyro dead?
so i just took my truck out camping in the desert this weekend and coming home i noticed my EGT was at about 400* whilst i was flooring it at 80 up a hill. at idle or low speed it reads 200*. on the way up i was getting more realistic readings and it usually takes a few seconds to get below 300* before i shut down. i did to a little off road romp chasing a late jack rabbit, so i guess i could have jarred something loose. i've checked the probe and it seems to be attached properly still. do probes just go bad after a while? can i replace the probe alone and see if it fixes my problem?
i think the most common problem for a pyro not working correctly besides loose connections is the insulation in the probe wears out and causes it to short but i would make sure that all connections are good first before looking at the probe
