Pushrod covers, you hate them, I hate them

Went through the whole process, used a good gasket and new bolt seals, glued the gasket on the tin with ultra gray and let it set, then glued it on a very clean block. The silicon had two weeks to cure while I fixed other crap, ran it for the first time today, blipped her up to 105 mph, got home and... Exxon Valez again, oil running down the side of the block.

I'm thinking the tin is just too weak to clamp down in a poorly designed gasket setup with the boost I am running...

Ordered a $199 job that has an o-ring.

Well that sucks, kind of a nasty job to have to do twice. I'd love to see a picture of the replacement cover you got, if you happen to get a chance. Sounds pretty cool.

I need to dial in my water injection system which I think will eliminate a lot of the blow-by. It came off a Texas Mile Corvette so I bought a GM boost MAP sensor that I can use as the input for the gasser Snow controller. I have a fine control regulator for my air compressor that I will use to set it up off vehicle.

So how much boost are you running?

Is there excessive blow by while unboosted?

Wasn't it you that had a scavenger pump on your engine?
Seems odd it would leak from the valve covers before the side cover.

No blow by at all unboosted. I am running 35-40 PSI. It's not leaking much from the valve covers, just blowing out the side cover.

I need to make a mount for the scavenger pump and get new O-rings for the vacuum relief valve so I don't suck the gaskets in.

From what I hear, water/meth really helps with blow by. Pretty sure my POD's, max fueling and advance to the head have coked up the ring grooves some. The cylinders still had cross hatch and no sign of scoring at 392K when I did the head and studs.

I am hoping for 100 more HP with the water/meth. Need traction bars!

Well worth the money. They are the cadillac of crank venting. I'd buy one of those before buying the bling tappet cover.

PDP has the dual valve cover breather reasonably: Cummins Valve Cover Crankcase Breather Kit 5.9L 12 Valve
