good job, and nice pickup. couple months ago my brother was headed over mt. hood here in oregon and was driving his 97 one ton dually dodge 4x4 cummins pulling his 20 foot gooseneck with his trusty ol' cow feeding rig on the trailer (84 gm pickup 6.2 diesel 4x4) when his nv4500 dumped the oil and cooked . anyway he called and i jumped in my old 93 and two hours later showed up . only one person stopped to give him flairs and this is on hwy 26 at the top of hood lots of traffic. anyway hooked on to pickup , trailer with my 93 and pulled the whole lot up the road half mile to parking lot to sort out what to do. wish i had a camera and someone to shoot a pic. he did see a black bear run across the hwy about 100 yards up. allways gives you a sense of pride to be able to do those kinda things.

Great pic's Mark...I can't believe all this snow we've had here lately. I've pulled out my fair share of the stranded this week as well. For all you others across the country, Mark and I live in the DESERT!!!!

As of today Fairbanks has only had 8-10 inches this year. I wish we had that much snow! I'd worry a lot less about my well and septic.

Don't knock it, my 1st gen is entirely cast iron, front to back. The only piece of aluminum was the extension housing, and I replaced it with the HD cast iron piece. The sheet metal is heavier on 1st gens also, but I'll never be able to make the power that you guys can with the flick of a switch!
So, what kind of hitch do I need to pull a sled!

Nice pics.. we were in the Red River-Taos area at that time.. Time it just right.. came in on Thursday (before the snow) and left on Monday the 1st.. just as they opened the roads headed back to TX... some of those areas got over 50inchs of snow the weekend we were there...

I can't get over how nice that country is there. I keep a logging chain in the bed of my truck just in the hopes of being able to pull something someday. I saw my chance one day with a car that was wedged over top of a knocked off sign. The only problem was there was already another cummins on the scene! I figured one cummins is more than enough. Cummins guys must all just look for opportunities to use that torque. More likely, though, the chain will be used to pull my sorry butt out with the tires that are on my truck and two open diffs.

back in the seventies i drove a little cj2a 1951 jeep all stock with a flathead four banger. took alot of stuff from the boys about driving such a rig. so as fate would have it one of the boys was driving daddy's brand new single axle grain truck and upon leaving the stop sign he was at wrapped up the driveline and was sitting across the state highway. i drove up the side of the road with my little jeep , traffic backed up both ways, hooked up a chain, truck had full load of grain and pulled him up the road slowly to next wide shoulder. story was all over about the little jeep that could.

Heaviest/Hardest thing I've pulled was a huge Hyster forklift that was carrying an old wooden storage shed up a hill behind my house. He got stuck in the muddy yard, so I pulled him out. Then he couldn't make it up the hill because he only had 4th gear. Yea, I was doin the 4 wheel dance the whole time too...
