Proportioning valve for brakes

Got a problem with the front brakes on my 2-wheel drive. When I'm loaded w/ the trailer on the back, my front brakes will lock up before my backs (might be normal, but scary when it happens. I've had to put a fender on this truck due to this happening. I got new brakes front & rear, turned the rotors, & bled the front calipers. Anything I can do to keep the fronts from locking up?

1 ton Chevy rear wheel cylinders seems like what alot of people do for more stopping power in the rear.
Also I've read where alot of people make the switch to 1 ton rear brakes, they have wider shoes and heavier components.

The rear brakes, stock, are a bit on the lite side in my opinion. The upgrade to the Chevy 1 ton cyclinders and wider shoes will help out a lot. But...you shouldn't have "scarey" situations if you've got a functioning trailer brake controller and functioning brakes on the trailer.

If you want the big Chevy wheel cyclinders. What I've heard that fits is from a 78 Chevy 1 ton. Make sure it's for the dual rear wheel model. (Bore for the single rear wheel version is 1-1/16". Bore for the dual rear wheel version is 1-3/16".) Napa number is UBP37337 ($41.49) for the better quality United brand, or TSW4637337 ($11.49) for the regular quality Tru-Stop brand. Price is per each.

Bore for the single rear wheel version is 1-1/16". Bore for the dual rear wheel version is 1-3/16".
