prodigy trailer brake first gen ?

Hello, I'm looking at buying the prodigy trailer brake and was just curious if they make a plug in harness for first gen trucks (93) or does it have to be spliced into the system? Thanks

I am not sure if they have a plug or not but if you do splice it use good bare wire connectors with heat shrink tubing or anything but scotch locks. The previous owner of mine used the scotch locks and it will just occasionally stop working or get real jumpy. You should only have to splice into the brake light switch, also make sure you add a circuit breaker in case you ever have a serious short.

The first gen trucks never came with a connector to plug into, so you'd have to run all your own wiring. I agree with the above; scotchlocks have no business on a vehicle. Use traditional solder or a quality double-sealed crimp connector. 12 gauge wire is recommended, as a 2 axle trailer may draw 12 or more amps.
