Pressure Washing Engine
Pressure Washing Engine
Good Morning DTR!
I'm thinking of pressure washing my engine tomorrow and wonder if there are any precautions I need to take that are specific to the diesel? I just bought this truck, and the engine and steering are oily and greasy, so I want to clean that crud off and see if I can find where the various leaks are.
It's an electric washer, so it's not going to generate enough pressure to damage anything, and I use it to clean the engine on my Jeep when it's dirty, but I'm very novice to the diesel thing and don't want to make a stupid mistake.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

BE very careful of the electrics.... meaning wires conectors relays
if you have stock air box not to much to worry about there almost next to impossible to get water in there same as your power steering pump make certain the top is on properly Basically common sense. Unlike me whom sprayed down my second Gen motor and managed to get water in the crank sensor and then have the truck go into limp mode and have to drive 70k to the dealership and have them clear the code
cough cough
Oh You might have a Crank sensor someone may chime in on that not to sure about 1ST gen auto's
