power steering pump question

I had the front end of my truck on jack stands today to check for worn front end parts ,I turned the ignition switch on and turned the steering wheel from lock to lock without cranking the truck up.Fluid was forced out of the pump from somewhere, but after letting the truck back down I cranked it up and turned it lock to lock and it didn't leak. Is this normal? Thanks for any help.

More than likly it was pushed out of the cap. No big deal if it isn't leaking while running! Keep and eye on it and make sure it's full for a little while. I'm going to guess that you will not see a problem.
