Potentiometer

Potentiometer

If i put one in it sais i can go into overdrive at 35mph, If i floored it would it shift into 3rd? or stay in overdirve

It would stay in OD, if you had the potentiometer hooked to the pump which is really what the stock TPS is it would change the value and the PCM would downshift the trans into 3rd.

The kickdown clabe does not affect anything on that?

The term on the diesels is usually throttle vavle cable. Not unless you are going slow enough for it to downshift into 2nd gear. And once it shifts back up into 3rd its going to immediately shift into OD if it were to happen.

The TPS is kinda like a kickdown cable for OD (if that makes more sense).

well i went and looked for one of the potentoionmter deal and the 5k one the **** was like 3 inches long is this normal?

Thats how mine is. I need to borrow the dremel from work and trim it down.

Ive been having a problem with mine too. It WOKS, by that I mean it'll shift into overdrive at about 33mph but anywhere else I move the **** it will not shift into overdrive at all. And the spot that it does shift into OD isnt either the far left or right. It doesnt work like everyone else seems to work.
Bad connection?

The long shaft is normal just cut it down to your desired legnth.

Its in the sticky its a way to get rid of your tps and you can control when the trans shifts into overdrive
