Poor guy

Duramax and a trailer broke down beside the highway. Threw him a jerk strap and pulled him home with the first gen.

When we unhooked, he admitted he was impressed. I don't think he's used to that kind of acceleration.

That's the price I charge. Pass it on.

It breaks my heart to read things like the lady in NY that lost 2 children because nobody would let her in out of the storm. I can't even imagine it.

J_ link to that story from ny? I can't imagine being that heartless in a time like that.

The story that I had a hard time reading was the lady that had to choose which one of her children she would hold on to during that tsunami back a couple years ago. I have no idea what I would do facing that choice, I feel that all of us wouldn't make it because there is no way I could ever make that decision!

Back on track, you shoulda gave him a tow to me, them max's keep my bank roll happy.

He wanted to know what chip I had. I told him it's all mechanical. Eat your heart out, it'll run like that burning your drain oil.

The world is coming to an end. People are crazy. Maybe the zombie apocalypse will wipe out all of the self centered idiots and the others can start over?

Thanks for the link J. Even tough its sad to read.

My question is why when ever I stop to help some one it isn't like those movies my wife hates? Where the 22 year old blonde with the mini skirt and tube top is holding the tire iron looking confused......needing help oh so badly.

Sometimes it is like that though, I stopped to help a girl in a broken down subaru impreza years back. She pulled over to talk on her cell phone and shut her car off. When she went to turn it back on... nothing. I couldn't believe my eyes. Short skirt and a low cut shirt.. Then she bent over to try and start her car to show me... lord... and it was nothing but starter motor. Looked through my tools, rotated the crank on it.. She tried it again and it started right up.

What I didn't understand.. it was about 10 at night and in the middle of winter..

While I agree that helping out is best, there was a case in AZ years ago where a family stopped to help a car broken down. It turned out that the broken down car was full of 3 escapees from AZDOC. They killed them all. I am pretty liberal generally, but I believe in the second amendment and when I stop to help somebody. the .45 ACP is very nearby...Mark

Here is the story...

I have helped quite a few over the years and anytime they say"what do i owe you?" I tell them to return the favor some day.

Glad you were able to help that guy out. And that story about the two boys and the mother...very sad. But I have very little faith in humanity anymore...most are so self centered, and concerned about themselves that they won't lift a hand to help. Not to say that there isn't a small fraction of the population that stand out as shining beacons of what we were, and should still be.

Over the years I stopped a guy trying to abduct a small child, crack heads looting cars, and recently a car thief making a break from stealing out of cars. I never think about my personal safety first...I do what I know is right.

Oh my....I woulda...well. Now you want to hear crazy, here in the oven that I live in most girls are wearing pants and full shirts in the summer!! Some bull chips about skin cancer or something? I say let it fly so I have some visual stimulation! Yes Yes I know, I'm old married and have kids, but my wife window shops some of the fancy places in the malls that we can't afford, why can't I? All be it a different situation still I would just consider it window shopping since I can't afford them.

1st post reminds me of a Bumper sticker I picked up. (I Know, people will collect anything!)
it reads... "98% of all Chevys are still on the road, the rest made it home!"
I used to stop all the time to pull someone out of the ditch, or at least take them to town, when I lived in Montana. 20 years ago. Now, back in Commifornia, I am leery of stopping.

I grew up being taught not to help, because down in S. Florida criminals were acting broke down. Then the good Samaritan would end up getting robbed or mugged. They would set you up with women as well Ill stop if im not alone and have a friend with me. Sad; in this world I have to think about helping people
