piston lp question

I called my local cummins dealer with the part numbers today and they said the lp was 200 bucks does that sound right? Is there a place online to get them?

If you go to 1stgen.org, in the sticky there you will find part numbers for both International Harvester and New Holland. Both of those OEM's use the same pump, and can be had for somewhat less.

Just make sure it's the low pressure piston lift pump.

I got the part number from the sticky and they match exactly. So then it should be the correct one right?

i got quotes 260 just for the pump so i am going to order from a member off 4btswaps.com. the "case part" is apparently even more expensive now than the cummins.

For what it's worth,

Independent Cummins parts sellers, be they agricultural, industrial, vehicular, or any combination of the afore, set their own price schedules, making as much or little profit as they please.

Every piston lift-pump I have laid eyes on is made by CARTER; I wonder if one could circumvent Cummins and buy them under the CARTER label.

I called 3 local dealers here and they were all pretty close in price at 310 dollars for everything I need. T can get everything from the plaqce online for 185 bucks plus shipping. That is a big difference.

I do know that there is a pretty steep mark-up on parts; but, you also should be aware that there are several really cheap chinese knock-offs out there that ARE NOT MADE BY CARTER.

Although, the foreign pumps may be as good or better, who knows.

If this good price you have found is genuine CARTER, then I would go for it.

Are you the moparnut of two-cycle oil fame ??
