Can someone please post a pic of a dana 70 limited slip rear end for me. Mine sounds like it's coming apart when i turn corners on dry pavement. Used to be just when I turned right, now it knocks both ways. I just want to sure it is a factory unit and not an aftermarket locker. When I swapped the fluid it didn't look like any L/S I'm used to seeing. And yes I added friction modifier times two. Thanks guys. BTW 265000 kms.

ooh, not fun, i had a problem similar to this in november. it started out with a jolt every now and then on turns, then it got to where i had to hold the clutch in on a turn until the wheels spun at the same speed again, and finally when i was limping it home from school, it just slipped while driving in a straight line. i had to get it towed the rear-end shop, and 1100 dollars later i had a new rearend. thanks to my mom and dad of course.

i hear a lot on different boards about differential chatter. most say it will tear it up. i worked for a chry. dealer for ten years. 64-74. the clutch type posis had this problem. an additive fixed some but not all. i only remember replacing clutches in 2 units. at that time chry would not do anything for the chatter. said it would not hurt the unit. i have always used the clutch type unit, still do. in all these years i have never had to replace the clutches in the first one of my own. i use gl-5 or better gear lube and dont worry about it

As far as color goes, the dark fluid is from the clutches.
The chatter or shaking is from the clutches. They need more additive. Try 4 oz. Buy it from Dodge.
