I'm not sure what the threads are going into the pump itself. But the adapter fitting thats there stock has 3/8" NPT threads. So I just installed a 3/8"NPT fitting with a 3/8" hose barb.

I drilled out the plastic pickup tube and ran a small piece of 3/8" fuel line from the plastic pickup to the 3/8" fitting on the top of the sending unit.

Hellman is a local diesel guy here and his sump kit looks sweet. But mostly for a competition type truck IMO. And thats only my openion because the sump kit costs almost as much as my whole fuel system. LOL

I think the fuel inlet is 12x1.5mm. But as pwrtrpls1 pointed out the 3/8npt is really close to fitting perfect.

Almost any NPT fitting won't leak if tightened properly. Throw a little pipe dope on there and you can be sure of no leaks. I just got almost all the parts i need in the mail, just need to pick up a few other important things and i should be set!!

sweet, 3/8"NPT with nipple. I guess I'll do brass if it's one of those American threads jammed into a metric thread gigs with some pipe dope. Sounding like an easy weekend project that I can easily source all parts from the local Napa.

Did you simply make a 3/8" fuel tank bulkhead by epoxying a double ended hose barb into the origtional sending unit plug at the top of the tank like you did with the other end of the fuel pickup?

They do way better with a short suction line and mounted to the frame.

PWRTRIP: what fitting did you use going into the pump, I assume it's not NPT. Also, is that a large fender washer you used on the nipple you epoxied to the suction set up or was that there? What did you use for a "draw straw", just fuel grade hose?
can this pump replace a factory lift pump in an 01 24 valve?

this is the very same pump BD sells to replace the factory pump on the 24v's. So yes.

it is working great and not a single problem yet. Although I havent driven it much either. LOL I just took it for a little trip to get it inspected and I've made some WOT runs but thats about it. Maybe 30 miles total and about 4 hours running time. Its got a long way to go.

I have noticed how much better it runs overall. It is totaly clear exhaust driving normal now with the big boost tubes and IC. But with the added fuel WOT is really dark, definatly needs some nitrous to clear it up and make more power on the track.

Just an FYI. I did the same install BUT used the line coming off the discharge of the stock lift pump to plug my hose into. The ferrule acts like a barb, and the tube is almost 3/8", so the hose slid on tight enough to make a good seal.

So I'm running through the stock banjo bolt and stock filter. The result with the same setup before the filter as pwrtripls1 get me only 9-10psi at idle, and I can pull it down to 5 or 6 as WOT.

Guess I better get a separate filter unit and run it straight to the pump so I can see 15psi too.

That's interesting you'd see that much of a drop going through the banjo's.

And the stock filter. The lines are actually a nice size, but I'm guessing it's the banjo's and filter holding me back.
