To paint or not to paint.
Andrew,
Do you really want two 1st Gens the exact same color? As you probably know, I recently sold my blue/silver 92 and kept the black 93. If I was to look for another 1st Gen to drive, I wouldn't want another black one. Nothing wrong with black, just wouldn't want two the same color. Now, if that don't bug you, I'd say go for it. Your 1 ton turned out pretty nice, not much doubt the 90 would turn out as nice.

As you know, once you go black...
Given the choice of leaving it as is, I would poof it black. Need some rust protection on that 90. You can remove that surface rust on the hood while you are at it. Honestly though, I would do it a bit differently. The way I look at it, you still have prep time, sanding, masking, $60 in rattle cans to buy. Given that, I would just spend $300 on real automotive paint/primer to spray it with. It will last so much longer than rattle can paint and look better. You obviously keep and like your trucks and are putting time into them. Here is a pic of my wife's 67 Mustang we painted 7 years ago and the paint looks the same today. Total cost: $250 (single stage PPG and epoxy primer)

My vote is no paint. I catch heck all the time for not painting my pulling tractors and I say if I paint them then they look like all the other painted up tractors. The way they are now is unique and noone has one that looks like mine. That 90 is you're unique ride and everybody knows it.
I would say if your going to paint it do it with real paint. If you don't you'll just have more work when it comes time to paint it right anyway. You have the other truck so you could take some time and get it do nice. In the end it's your truck do whatever makes you happy.
