Well fellas as you can see from my sig, got rid of the twins and put the super40 back on. I would have to say on the street it made a worlds of difference in overall performance. Felt like the truck gained a 100hp. Guess the twins just werent for me. Ordered an Hx50 with a 17cm gated housing, so that should flow more than enough for the bigger injectors on order!

I'm still kinda new the the wonderful world of diesel (esp cummins diesel). Why would you gain more power by pulling off the twin turbos? I was thinking of twining my truck for pulling trailer over the mountain passes here in Cally. I'm not looking for a drag truck, but I am looking for a truck that I can be haul'n my 30,000lb trailer up the grape vine doing 75 while everyone else is hardly hitting 55. Is that to much to ask for. I figure if we sent a man to the moon than this is possible lol. Anyways I'm all ears, I rather do it right the first time than spend awhole lot of money on items that aren't going to work.

Like I said it "Felt" like it gained a 100hp. Prolly just due to the drivability of the single. Dont know if i had the turbos mismatched on size or what the deal was but could never really get it to perform the way i thought it should. But in the im very happy with it now, cant wait for the 5x.016s and the Hx50, and see how that feels on the edit Dyno, lol

Ahhhh, now when you are talking about the 5x.016s I know that your talking about injectors, but if you can explain more that would be helpful to me. Like I said earlier, this is my first diesel, so I'm knowledge hungry. What size injectors are in my stock 93's. What do they mean by pop preasure. Also more on the turbo's. What is a super40, the Hx50 and in compair with my stock turbo what is the stock unit. Can the stock unit be upgraded to these type of turbos, or is it cheaper to buy them. Also what is a Raptor 150

Your stock injectors will be a 6x.009, by pop pressure thats how much pressure it takes to open the injector and inject fuel into the engine. A super 40 is an upgraded version of a standard Hx40. The super40 has a upgraded shaft and a 60mm compressor wheel. The Hx50 is a whole nother ball game The one I have is a 64mm compressor wheel with a 17cm exhaust housing, but most Hx50s came with 19 or bigger housings. You can put a 60mm wheel upgrade kit on your stock turbo but your still going to have 17 year old technology. Best bet for a turbo upgrade is to save your money and get either a S300 like a 62/65/12 or14 depending on how fast you want it to spool. And the raptor is the pump in my fuel system. Hope this helps. If you have ne more questions PM me be glad to help as much as I can

sgreen, you just inspired me to P-pump my own truck. Im tired of the D-maxes with more than one chip toying with me lol i can keep up but im not ahead of the game. Heavily molested P71, 5x16's and a 60+ mm turbo should put me where i want to be. This thread is bookmarked on my laptop now. that way when i eventually do it i can just flip thru this thread in the shop haha then its bye bye getrag, u joints, and the dana 70 with the power output

I believe I will be doing this swap in the next few months. Very good write up. I scored a 190hp p-pump bus motor for free, blew a HG and had a melted piston.
Before I take the p-pump off of the motor I need to get the motor at TDC right? How would I do that?

Setting the pump at TDC and locking it would be good, there's a plug on the side, you pull it out and there's a locking pin that you turn around and put back in to lock the pump.
