Just wondering..

most hardware on mine is rusty and was looking for a place to buy replacements. I remember someone saying there was "the place" to buy new hardware for old american iron... Want new factory looking screws..

hahaahh .. depends on how many people owned the truck before you

I have to use both metric and standard..

but from the factory they are mostly metric.. I have found a few standard bolts that really do look like the came from the factory

On most of mine, the engine and transmission is mostly Metric, with some American; while, the transfer-case and rest of the truck is mostly American, with some Metric.

Why do we have to have Metric ??; I thought we won the war.

I just tore two apart this past weekend...1992 and a 90 and they both were a healthy mixture of SAE and Metric. Fender bolts on the 90 were SAE and the 92 were Metric. Transmission it's self metric....mounts and such SAE. The Engine is mostly metric so far from what I have seen.

Regardless I am pretty confident when i say "You better have a complete selection of the basic tools in both standard and Metric" lol

I call the sizing scheme "stantric" as what you have is what you've got. Two sets of tools required.

The engine is metric, the chassis is SAE.
