original Banks kit owners

i was talking with a freind of mine and he was told that banks turns up the pump when they install a kit. does anyone know if this is true? the PO had one installed and im wondering if maybe the pump has been turned up? i always assumed it hasn't been, as i have never seen my EGT above 850, then again i have never towed a big load up a grade, either.

im not even sure what kit i have. its got a wastegated turbo housing, a suposedly more efficient intercooler, and an exhaust system.

Right off, is your pyro located after the turbo?

And yes, depending on what kit, the Banks instructions will have you turning up the fuel screw.

EDIT ~ You most likely have this kit based on your description ~ http://www.everythingoffroad.com/ind...dge-89-93.html

Nah, Banks discontinued the first Gen stuff earlier this year I think it was.

Sounds like you have one of the bigger kits they once sold. It is a good kit and is very conservative by design. Many gripe LOUDLY about how they hate Banks. It's my opinion they don't take into consideration the kits of fame were developed years before any of the big name retailers got going good. There weren't many diesels in mainstream markets. They fail to realize that if, for example the EPA said tomorrow, all must remove all non-carb approved parts, the early Banks kit owners would be asking, why all the crying?

But that's another story.

I expect you'd do well, following the basic trend found here, in these forums and do the BHAF, basic pump mods, etc to accent what you already have.

Hope this helps.

EDIT ~ And that's a coveted waste-gated 14cm exhaust housing you've got. They go for around $474 the last I looked.
