any one found an injector pop pressure better than another? got to set up a set for a friend this weekend, and was just wondering...

 

245 bar.

 

Stock is 245 but has anyone tried more or less to get better results?
Maybe 250-260?

IIRC 14.7 psi = 1 bar.
245=3600
255=3748
260=3822

A stock p-pump is 260, I think.

 

i have been setting lower, and IIRC when i tested my ddp's for the VE they were in the range of 3000 psi, i put another set together at 2500 psi for my cousin and he loves them, but one thing i was running in to, at high pressure (3200-3500 psi), we started having hot idle issues where the engine would idle very low/ruff almost stall on warm summer days, IDK, maby fuel is too hot? but the lower pop pressure cured them...

 

Worn out injection pump, ie hydraulic head and rotor is the cause of that.

 

that was my thought too, but we had three trucks that were doing it all at the same time only when low fuel, and very hot days, and no other issues at all, uuummmmm.... maby my gauge on my pop tester is fubared??? i better look into that...

 

ive tried 250 bar and 260 bar on bigger injetors \. i worried about pump wear at 260 bar so set at 250. seem to run a little better 245 bar + than under 245. bar.

 

My 4x.014s I have were set at 250. The shop recommended 260 but I told them the bodies say 245. I don't think 5 bar made that much of a difference.
