Lets say maybeee, acidentally, i might have sorta shifted my truck into reverse at like 40. its an auto and the oil pressure went to zero and the light came on but the engine didn't die. I shut it off and immeadiately threw it in neutral. Not that i'm stupid enough to do this , but if the above happend, whats the worst for damage?

After you shut it down, did you try to run it again?

Most likely no damage to the engine. Might want to adjust the low/reverse band in the trans though...

Hey BillyBob hold my beer and watch this!

Sheared input shaft or other major internal transmission damage. Not a good way to stop the truck.

I'd double check for damage, but i did that to a 440/TFlite combo in a 69 coronet more than once with no damage . . at full throttle.

That is the only problem with the non reverse lockout floor shifters. I did the same thing in my old 340 dart with a slapstick . I thought I blew the trans apart but to my surprise there was no damage.

I was 16 and it was out of a e body in a junk yard. I had to make it all work because my car was originally a column shift. So I didn't have the proper bracketry on the floor for the unit. I had it spaced out with washers and I'm sure I probably messed something up on the shifter when I cobbed it in there.
