Opinions on repaint
I am planning on having the Goat repainted the end of this summer and I am having problems deciding how to have it done. I am going to stick with Red but am seriously considering having the rockers sprayed with bed liner. I had this done on my previous truck (Silver Tacoma w/ sprayed bottom 6”) due to the amount of rock chips from the mud tires. On the Tacoma I had it sprayed up to the rubber molding and in my opinion I think it made the truck look good. If I have the Dodge done this way it too will be black bed liner due to the fact the people I have talked to about the colored bed liner say it fades real bad and the red will turn to pink. My dilemma is if I have it sprayed up to the trim then I think it will be too much. I could take the trim off and not go to high but then I don’t have that trim to protect the new paint from the ever so nice people at Wal-Mart who use your car door as a door stop for their car door. Any thoughts? I attached a photo of the tacoma incase someone is not following what I am talking about.

I like the idea IMO.
I always liked silver/red. But I think black on the bottom would look nicer up to the lower body line because the black trim would make the silver rhino look weird.

I did my 93 with the black bedliner, the truck is white. I put a coat of sealer over the whole truck and was worried that the black would show thru the white. Prior to or while wet sanding the truck I sanded the bedliner just like I did the rest of the truck then i went over the whole thing again with a scotchbrite pad and rubbed the daylights outta the bedliner then painted the whole truck brite white. The paint is only 3 weeks old but it's not bleeding thru yet. Hope it doesn't but it might. Good luck on however you do it.

What about clear 3M film? That way you get protection that is removable.
I have Line-x in my bed. The great thing is that it will never come off no matter what. The bad part is that it will never come off no matter what.
If I were buying a truck, I would prefer that any mods the PO made would be able to be taken off. Might impact your resale value.
My .02.
Edit: Maybe even vinyl graphics of some sort?

i did on my '92 and i have the dark forest green above the trim. The only thing i don't like about it is how course it is. Body shops have actual chip guard which is less aggressive than actual bed liner, if i was going to do it again that is what i would use.
