Trying to find a pin for myself and a friend .. can anyone verifiy if this is indeed the original pin from mike? Or another copy?

Why would there be 10 available? Those look like BD pins to me. I'll bet he is getting them cheaper somewhere and just re-selling them. I got my BD pin for $79 + s&h.

 

After reading up on it we definitely don't want the BD, thinking the DennyT or Ole' Smokey if we could find them online somewhere

 

Left alone, the BD pins will wear a groove. I put an index mark on the diaphragm cap so I can pull it out, re-grease and re-install clocked a degree or two either way. I've done that every few months for a year and a half and no groove, just a wide witness mark. I think it will last forever that way.

Worst case scenario, it'll be a little more aggressive after a couple million miles.

 

What sort of gains in performance, smoke, egt's did you see? I'd like the biggest HP gain I can get out of a pin .. under $200 of course

 

IIRC, I saw an additional ~4lbs. max boost, so there was obviously some more fuel there. How much? Hard to say, but definitely a noticeable seat-of-the-pants increase.

The DennyT Stage II pin is the best one on the market, in my opinion. No core is required (I'm not sure why a company would need a core) because he makes them from hardened steel. When I got mine it was $100 shipped, but I think he may have gone up a little in price since then. I noticed improved throttle response, and a very noticable increase in power. It also helps my tranny shift when it is supposed to because I don't have to have my foot down as far on the throttle.

The pin is worth every penny, and a breeze to install. He will also answer any questions you have, and is very easy and friendly to talk to. Give him a PM and I know you will be 100% satisfied with his product.

the ol smokey pin has OS stamped in the bottom i might just have one of the last ones made i got it a year ago

curious about the smokey pin. It seems to me that I read somewhere in the searches a while back that the smokey pin is not suppose to develop a groove in the pin because it was made by some hardened material or something, and that if it did develop a groove, it could be turned in for a replacement because at that point, it is considered faulty, correct? I have an original and it has developed a very deep groove in it. I feel at times the fuel pin that rides the smokey pin could be hangin' up on the groove. Am I correct that the pin can be replaced for new?
