what's the price on the pin? Is it reccommended that one steps up to injectors b4 this to see much benefit, or can it be felt with stock injectors?

Furious, I would email Mike about pricing info. Or call Dynomite Diesel. Good gains have came from trucks with stock injectors. I believe the number was around 30-40hp but dont hold me to that. So, as it stands, virtually any 1st gen owner can do this mod no matter what he already has done.

I will have my truck on the dyno in the next coming months testing the hp gain with my mods and comparing it to the stock cone.

Hey Monty --

I know this is a lot to ask, but after you run on the dyno if you could post graphs of rpm vs. torque, hp, and manifold pressure I would be quite interested.

Thanks,

Alec

On Sept.14, 2003 I ran on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno in Portland and saw 325 RWHP without Old Smokys eccentric. On Sept 27, 2003 at Piers I ran 353.7 RWHP - also on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno. The weather conditions were almost identical. The only difference was Old Smokys eccentric. That figures to be a 28.7 RWHP difference. Just my .02 worth. See my sig for mods.

I just put in an Old Smoky pin, and I gained 3 psi of boost, and acceleration is way better with much better low end. My pyro is being stupid (bad ground?) so I don't have EGT comparisons yet.

Before I go ahead and do part 2 of the article. There are a few small issues that need to be hashed out on the truck. Be patient, I havent forgot about it.
