Thumbs up Old Smokey pin=24rwhp

I ran pre and post dyno runs less than five minutes apart, only changing the pin. 24 hp and 51 ft.lbs increase at the rear wheels. I didn't notice a any significant egt increase at cruise speeds, but it climbs a bit faster at WOT. A good mod for the $$ and ease of installation
Phil
BTW, my stock fuel pin was already rotated to the deepest setting, and I shaved the washer to about .090"(about the same as the one that came with the new pin).

Good info. I have been told I could expect 28 HP. 24 is still good. I know when I installed my power pin there was about 2-3PSI boost increase and a definate power increase. There was no dyno involved. I hope to dyno this year and see the increase since last dyno.

SO, What were your numbers?? Is there any more smoke running the PIN?... One more thing, when you changed your GOV spring, did you do it with the pump on the engine or take it off?...Was it hard to change the spring? Any TIPS that you can pass on?....THANKS..Gary

My governor spring I changed on the truck. It has been quite a while since I did it. I remember it did not take too long but give your self a few hours in case you have problems. some of the bolts are difficult to get to. Somewhere on DTR there are full instructions on how to do the job.
Does anyone remember where to find those step by step instructions?
Good luck.

I also did my gov spring on the truck, best $12 I spent.

I was told 23-25 hp increase, so it was spot on for me.
Roughly, what PW injectors do at 1/4 the pice

As far as the #'s go, I didn't post them, because I want to confirm them on another Dyno. I've never dyno'ed the truck before, but the #'s seemed high based on my mods and what I've heard of other similar trucks running.
The dyno operator couldn't believe it either, so he double checked all the dyno settings, said it was calibrated last week, and made 5 pulls. He ran a truck before and after me and the #'s seemed right on both those

Anyway, with that disclaimer, the #'s are: 395 hp + 846 ft.lbs.

I'll update this when I get a chance to run on Imlers Dyno.

Phil

Got it in today, very simple took me about 30 minutes but I did a cleaning on my TPS too. So far I can feel a nice increase in the seat of the pants dyno. I'm going to do a few adjustments on the pump this weekend, should see a little more gain yet. Thanks guys. I ended up getting it from Dynomite Diesel great people to deal with answered all my questions.

I re-dyno'ed on Imlers mustang dyno and got a little more realistic (read accurate) #'s But I'm still happy with 319.5hp and 740.4tq. I'm guessing that the other dyno was trying to calculate flywheel power #'s, maybe?? Now I just got to rebuild that tired 210k mi pump
