Put a cheater pipe on the wrench. Mine seems to stick pretty tight, I sometimes have to use a 1/2" drive breaker bar to get it out and I always put it in with a ratchet...

D'oh! Well, try going after it with a pipe wrench after you buy a new drain plug.

Junk tools or you were using standard. It's metric, 18mm IIRC.

If you have a welder, weld a nut to it so you can get a real wrench on there.

mine was like that when i bought the truck.....i used vise grips and put them on sooooo tight i could barely squeeze them then i pecked it loose with a hammer....then with the plug out i welded a nut over top of it....i have to use an 1, 1/4" socket to change my oil....

Drilling it out would be your absolute last choice. I'd find someone with a welder and weld a nut to it.

you could use a tool that was made for removing rounded lug nuts too. its like a socket with heavy rifling (the best discription i could come up with) hammer it on and bites hard when you twist ccw.

I had to weld a short bolt to mine. The PO had a real mess with a rounded off plug too. I'm really amazed at how many hackers are out there. I mean I won't put up with that for 5min let alone years.

Bought a nice plug from Geno's and life is grand.
