oil pan

oil pan

my oil pan is starting to leak due to rust so does any one know where i can get one new or a used one in great shape and since in doing the pan i might as well do rods and main bearings and main seals? do u recommend using cummins bearings or like clevites? Any other thing i should do while i have her opened up? What about cam bearings and oil pump truck has 218,000 and is getting a new body so will be around for a while what do you think thanks

I'd try to find a used one.

The other thought is to buy a second gen pan and pickup tube, I priced it out at $225.

Don't know about the pan, but a set of rods and mains will set you back about $250 or so, if you use cummins. Price difference is not that bad. I'd take the time to check them. I didn't, and spent $250 for nothing. I didn't need them.

If the rear main isn't leaking I wouldn't worry about it. If your rods and mains are ok, I'd think the cams are too. With the body off, it would be real easy to do the KDP if you haven't already, other than that, do your maintenance items. Just my .02.....
