Oil heater? Who's got one?
Oil heater? Who's got one?
So I get a little nervous everytime I go to start my pickup now that it's cold. Plug it in and still the oil gauge doesn't move for 5 to 7 seconds.
I've heard of people running an oil heater, so I thought I would ask to see what's available and if there's a perferred one to get?
Thanks

I know I'm 3rd gen, but I have one on this one and my second gen. Its an excellent investment. The truck fires off like its the middle of summer. Even at -30.
I use the pad type heater glued to the bottom of the pan. Getting the paint off the pan is not fun, a angle grinder and wire wheel work well. The heaters are usually a little longer than the area will allow but they are easily bendable and mine goes partly up the side of the pan.
This is what I use.

That's what I'm running.
I know it helps when the temps drop to -54C with the wind.
My trucks parks outside.
