off the wall maybe??

So I need a favor from the community here... My truck was hit almost a month ago , since then i've been fighting the insurance. KBB says my truck is worth $3800. I see them selling all over for way more. Unfortunately since these girls don't go up for sale very often it's kind of hard to find actual sold figures.

So what i'm asking is has anyone here bought or sold a truck in similar shape anytime lately??? I understand that almost everyone has a diesel, and it will definitely affect the cost, but $3800... can this be true?

Mine just turned 129,000 miles, and has zero rust, been an Idaho/Colorado 3/4's of its life.

That is a rare one. The last 1993 W350 dually 5.9 Magnum with nv4500 I saw for sale was 3500 in solid shape with less than 100K miles. Spoke to the guy and he was straight up about it no surprises, but had been on the market awhile and no takers.

I think if it had 50K miles you might be able to eek out 4500 or 5K.

That $3800 figure sounds about right for a 22 year old gasser.
Some time the trucks are worth more to the owner, and buying them back from the insurance company and fixing them up is the best option.
This might be the case here.
That body looks really solid.
Throw a new bed or flat bed on it and get back it back on the road.

Unfortunately the gasser drive train is what kills the value of that truck. I would say you'd be hard pressed to get $5K for it. If it was a cummins drive train in the same truck you would probably be looking at close to $10K or more.

eek.. I knew it was going to be impacted price wise, but I didnt think double or more.. That's quite the shame considering I live in an apartment complex and can't pay to have it fixed elsewhere.... so I guess someone will be getting a good price on a first gen...

A truck that rust free would probably, bring $5000 here as us New Englanders love a rust free rig.
After paying $1200+ to ship it here, though your back to $3800 again.
