Ok guys installed new odo gears,the old ones were shot,still no work! Took it apart twice. Everything looks good. Could the motor that turns the gears be bad? Yes the speedo works fine.

 

I've. Heard of guys try to cheat on their mileage for resale reasons. On these trucks it becomes bragging rights. Lol

I am very interested to see what comes of your odometer and fix. I too have a working speedometer but not odometer. As one of the last items on my fix list I was going to replace the 2 plastic gears as well as in the sticky. Every once in a while the odometer will turn a 10th of a mile or so. This leads me to believe the gear teeth are the failure point in my case. I am wondering if the speedo uses separate powered movement for the speedo and odo as well?

 

It's usually the little tiny green gear that cost $30.

It's possible the gear motor itself is bad.

 

my 91.5 is having the same symptons. I did both gears in mine, too. A friend of mine ,his don't work good when it's cold warms up trk., works good.??
