"Ode" to my Dad and his Cummins......

Hey guys,

Inheriting "the truck" from my Dad last June was special for me. His pride and joy and something I always told him I loved. I wanted to do something to the truck in his rememberance. I am not a fan of the "In memory of" stickers people put on their cars. I thought about a personalized plate like "FBLCK4D" or something but I'm not a real fan of those or the DMV and the $50 a year I would spend for that. After seeing some of the bed stripes the guys have I really liked the look, the way it kind of breaks the truck up and of course the way the old Dodge's looked during the muscle car era. I have a friend that owns a sign company and works a lot with vinyl and such. He does Buses and other fleet things for companies. I talked to him about making a bed stripe up for me. I really didn't want "4X4" under the Cummins logo or "5.9 Turbo Diesel" and then it hit me. Dads name. So this is what it came out like.

David

PS> Thanks to everyone for helping me to get up to speed on the Cummins Diesel. I really do appreciate it!

It's "Metallic Emerald green". Yes, he passed at the end of may. Thanks "no_sprk".

and what a beautiful truck it is! that's an awesome way to pay tribute too! i'll bet it's still running when your kids are old enough to drive and you can pass it on to them too.

Very nice. I'm sure my dad's name will go on my truck some day too. He bought mine new. Really great idea.
