O-rings/Studs

Ok, moving along! In the middle of getting an o-ringed and ported head and a set of ARP studs. Got it fired up, everything torqued to 140 lb-ft, and tomorrow goes on the turbo and downpipe. Now it's time to hit it with two more stages of nitrous

Anybody push the limits of this type of setup on a 1st gen yet?? The other good news was that my deck on the block was super flat--less than .004 of an inch. (.006 is within factory specs).

I dont know if you consider this pushing the limits or not. But ive got my orings and 12mm studs torqued to 138ft-lbs and it has held afew short burst of 80-85psi with the twins. And holds a steady 70psi when ever I mash the pedal on the weekly basis.

Do you know the wire diameter and protrusion you used?

JQ, it's not stated in your sig, but have you tweaked on your pump? if so, what kind of EGT's are you seeing running on fuel alone? are they staying cool with the htt stage VI upgraded compressor on the h1c? i've only got 4x.014's (nowhere near the 6x.016's you're running), but i've been told that even with a 60mm upgrade, the h1c won't be able to cool very well when i start tweaking the pump.

With my hx35/40 (six blade) hybrid with the 18cm housing, 2nd gen intercooler and 3" piping running at 40-50psi with the pump as close to maxed as i can without it hangin, my egts get over 1400 pretty easily in 5th. Stock injectors.
I am now looking for a hx40 to cool stock non i/c injectors for towing...

I guess I should mention I also ran a 12cm wastegated at 42 with similar results egt wise...

Fuel screw is turned in pretty far, but I don't have full travel yet on my linkage (kickdown doesn't have enough travel) still I see about 1500-1600 by the middle of 3rd gear on fuel only, 1400 with water, and 1300-1400 with nitrous and no water.

140 lbft is getting pretty close to distortion on the standard ARP's.

I like living on the edge....most companies will give you an 80% rating of what 80% of the bolts (or studs) are capable of.

Just got my arp studs in, they say 75% of yield at 125 lb/ft. If my math is right, that puts the yield point at 167 lb/ft. I think I'm just going to stick with 125.

Those that have tested the ARP's have found that distortion starts around 150lbft.
