NP205 support bracket
Was surfing the net, landed on a couple 4x4 sites, and started reading about an actual support bracket, made to bolt onto the transfer case, and either mounts onto an additional frame to frame steel, or to the side of the existing frame. The two I looked at, never actually had them on a first gen dodge, but the description did mention that it was meant for our year Dodge, also. What led me to this search, was a guy on first gen.org suffering from a cracked OD section, due to the weight of the transfer case. I've always wondered why there wasn't some means of support for that monstrously heavy part, just hanging off of the tranny with what, 6 bolts?
One of the two systems, was an adjustable, weld on piece. By adjustable, I'm meaning that you would spin or maneuver it around till you found the sweet spot of support attachment then you would weld it from there. The other one, was also maneuverable, but somehow caught the edge of the passenger side frame, I believe. Hard to tell as I was looking for similarities of the undercarriage of our trucks.
Does anyone have one of these mounted on their rigs? Anything support wise is always welcome in my book

I have the TMR Customs 205 support on mine. I just set it up on the bolts of the 205 so I could weld it to the cross member.
I thought the same thing, that's a lot of weight hanging off the tail housing. I do a lot of dirt and FS road driving that truck, think washboards and bumpy roads, so I wanted the peace of mind of a transfer case support.

205 brace
I have seen a few cracked adapters and cracked cases after trying a mount on the 205 case . I know it looks like it will fall off with the weight just hangin there , but I think this is one place , do not try to reengineer . If it needed a mount Dodge would have added on by this time in manufacturing . My truck is a 79 with 205 , no issues yet without the extra mount .
Chevy and GMC used them. The assembly was on the right side where the boss with the drilled and taped holes are. it mounted to the frame on and used rubber biscuits(sort of like the ones one of my exes made)
I used to have the GM/205 bracket in my possession. The main thing with using it on a Dodge is the frame is further away (38" vs 34" frame spacing).
This is one of the reasons I went with a cast iron tailshaft housing on my NV4500, as opposed to the OEM aluminum, when I converted from 2wd to 4wd. 
I do like the thought of an additional rubber isolated support bracket for an aluminum tailshaft though. I may consider one for the Ramcharger when it gets it's cummins/auto.

Once they ditched them they started installing a brace from the bell housing bolts back to the transfer case on select models and then quit trying to brace them altogether.
