Just for my own knowledge, and maybe someone else that might run into this one day, what happens if your one tooth off in the opposite direction? Looks like you might not have enough room in the idle stop to turn down the idle low enough. Anyway the truck is running great, really cool to see so much potential after driving the same truck for 9 years and 150,000 miles bone stock!
Devildog...have a 93 blue/gray 350. I've had it for about 7 years...doesn't seem to have the power that it should have. Checked the linkage. Air filter and fuel filters are good. Have low boost...about 8psi. No smoke residue on bumper or on white travel trailer I tow. Like to know what one tooth means on throttle linkage. Do you know where I could get some literature on the injection pump itself? I have the complete factory Dodge manual....doesn't offer anything on the injection pump.

Saltydog,
Send me your email address and I will email you the directions to install the 3200 RPM governor spring and it has the info in it to reindex the throttle linkage.

Confirm no boost leaks, then check the guide pin for movement. It is located inside the AFC housing and it's what rides up and down on the AFC cone or fuel cone....they can get sticky and that will prevent or reduce the amount of boost fueling.

pb....

SaltyDog,

Keep in mind mine was 'one tooth off' because I had tampered with my pump. If your pump is stock it would be in the correct position and your problem lies somewhere else. I'm making much better boost now because of the few upgrades to get more fuel too.

If your down on power without any changes you might want to start with your lift pump (fuel pump) since your filters checked out OK. After you locate the problem, there are some great ways to build more power without spending much money. Check out the Tech section of this site for some ideas and a lot of info on the pump itself. You can also search the 1st gen trucks with words like 'more power' and you'll get days of good reading material from previous posts. If you need more help just start a thread with a question, you'll received tons of help from some great guys. Good luck, good to see another Dog around here!
