No heat out of heater
No heat out of heater
Need some help. Truck is warmed up, fan on high, temp setting high. I'm getting luke warm air coming out of the vents or feet area. Not hot. Any clues? Change the thermostat, coolant? or?

- Look in the "Sticky" found at the top of our forum board for the heater box clean-out procedure.
- Be sure the water valve located above the engine, passenger's side, where the two water pipes run to the heater coil is actually opening (vacuum operated).
- Open the glove box all the way and make sure the temperature adjusting (hot ~ cold) cable hasn't slipped in it's clip (move the adjustment handle to see which cable works what lever and tighten if needed).
Hope this helps.

The dodges are bad for build up restricting flow through the heater core. Pop both your heater hoses off of the engine, grab the garden hose and blast water through the heater core in both directions a couple of times until you have good clear flow through the core. Be forwarned that if your core is weak and about to fail this can finish it off.

I have been having the same issue- on HIGH (with a relay), it will keep you comfotable if the temp is in the teens or 20s, but it wont run you out like all my other vehicles have. I'll try the heater core flush.
