new turbo and i/c :)
new turbo and i/c :)
last monday i blew my little baby h1c on the way to work so i limped it home and drove my moms durango to work. i had to drive her car all week and it was terrible, that thing would not get out of its own way! anyways today my dad and i put the new turbo on and fabed up a down pipe and exhaust. i already had the i/c in just not hooked up. so i put the i/c style intake manifold on and plumbed everything up. the pyro droped about 200* and the turbo is a beast. it's a HTT 64/71/14 many people said i would never be able to spool it,but they were wrong
it lights quickly and very hard. i set the waste gate at 30psi and i max at 40 ish. tonight my friend and i were playing a little cat and mouse. he has a p-pumped 2nd gen with a cam,0 plate, intake, exhaust etc... the point is it's pretty mean, and i kept up with him all the way to 80mph, then he started pulling away cause he has 3:55 gears and i have 4:10s. both trucks are stick btw, but over all im pretty happy. now i just need a nice clutch to get all the power to the ground. mine is starting to slip, not badly but im loosing power because of it. then some studs so i can really open this turbo up!

Did you have the lagmaster exhaust housing on your h1c? If so I can see the 64/71/14 being a great improvement over your stock turbo. Time to through some more fuel at it and really light it up

Im not a salesman for anyone but i really like the clutch i have. Its smoother than my stock one, handles all of the power and the kit was great. The pedal is maybe a touch stiffer but not bad, my girlfriend drives it some and didnt notice the difference.
As for the turbo, i want video! Im not surprised you lit the thing but its kind of surprising that you can do it easily. I think the 64/71/14 is a good turbo though. Off hand i cant remember why but i think its the number of blades help spool up even with the big wheels.

sounds awesome. Anything is better than the h1c! Sounds like it runs good.
What pump mods you got done?
People told me i couldn't spool this aurora either but I proved them wrong! its always good to do that isn't it? nice job.

i did have the lagmaster houseing on the h1c but i did not have any problems spooling it at all either, it did lag a bit but almost next to none at all.i have a denny t pin, 3k gov spring, ag fuel screw, high idle screw mia, nothing special with stock timing. i will get some pics up soon for you all to see. maybe a vid too.
